Big South Boys Bash Information
Recognized by USA Volleyball as a National Ranking Event

Entry Fee & Entry Process:
The entry fee for the 2010 event is $380.

How to Enter:
all entry applications must be submitted online at the SignUpToPlay For directions on how to use Sign Up To Play,. Click here

Who Can Enter:
Any boys team -- if you are from outside of the United States, please go to the Foreign Teams information page

Play Location:
All divisions, all age groups will be played at the Georgia World Congress Center located at 285 Andrew Young International Blvd., N.W Atlanta, GA  30313. 

Payment:
If you pay on-line, there is no need to mail us a copy of your Entry Application.  The date of entry will be recorded as the time and date you made your on-line payment. PayPal automatically notifies us when your payment has cleared.

If you choose to pay by check and mail your entry, make sure to print an Entry Application from Sign up To Play and mail with your fees. The date of entry will be recorded as the date your entry is received, not the postmark or date you mailed the forms. Please mail one check and print one application per CLUB. Make check payable to The Big South.

Playing Divisions:
The tournament will offer competition in all age divisions -- 18’s, 17’s, 16’s, 15’s & 14’s We may combine age divisions if needed. You will be notified right away should that need to be done

This event is NOT a bid tournament. BUT.... it is recognized by USA Volleyball as a National Ranking Event.

Playing Times:
Competition will begin on Friday, April 3, 2010 at 3:00 pm.  Confirmed start times will be posted on this web site once available and sent to all Net Gazette Newsletter recipients.

All play should be concluded on Saturday by 9:00 PM. .

Entry Withdrawal & Refund Policy:
ALL withdrawals from the event must be submitted in writing via email by the person listed as the contact on the initial entry form or in Sign Up To Play.

There are no refunds of entry fees once a team registers for Big South Boys Bash, submits payment and has been accepted into the event..

Trainers and Medical Releases:
There will be certified trainers and doctors at two locations within the playing venue provided by Global Event Medicine.  They will provide services and supplies. Do not wait until the last minute to have your players report to the medical tent to be taped as play will not be delayed.

All coaches are required to have a Medical Release Form for each player with them at all times.  The representative of the team will be required to sign a statement at Team Check-In, which verifies that the forms are in their possession.

Team Check In Before Play:
All Teams are Required to Check in Before they Participate in the Big South Boys Bash 

    LOCATION: Georgia World Congress Center
    REGULAR TEAM CHECK IN:
    Friday April 2 from 4:00 - 8:30 pm in the main lobby of the GWCC

  • Have a complete and correct Check In Form with a bar code for each team you are checking in.Print this form from Sign Up To Play.(see below for details)
  • Fill out all the REQUIRED Verification information at the bottom of the page of the Check In Form.
  • Review the roster and be sure it is complete and correct.
  • Have valid USAV numbers on the form and in signuptoplay.com for every name on the roster.
  • Have NO handwritten changes on the roster.

Team & Coaches Requirements to Enter:
All persons listed on a team roster must be registered with USAV through their Region. Coaches on the roster must be IMPACT certified. All adults listed on the rostered must have an up to date background check through your Region.

PREPARE FOR CHECK IN AHEAD OF TIME --

Change or Add Players & Coaches to your Tournament Roster:
Roster changes can be made up until the last minute before you go to the Team Check in Desk. However,
you need to have access to Sign up to Pay. Log on to STP. Select “Teams”, click on your team name -- this is your Master Roster. Click on “Players” or “Staff” buttons at the top of the page to add or delete as necessary. The changes have now been made ONLY to your Master or Default Roster, not the Tournament Roster. Then select “Enter Events” and click on the Big South Boys Bash in the Tournament listing, then select your team name. Select the “Rebuild Roster” button at the top of the page. Now follow the directions to print your Check In Form below.

Print the Barcoded Check In Form:
You need to have access to Sign up to Pay. Log on to STP. Select “Enter Events”, then click on the Big South Boys Bash the Tournament listing, then click your team name. Review your roster and make sure that all players and staff members are on the list and have USAV numbers. Then click the “Check In Form” button at the top of the team entry page. A pop will will show you the Barcoded Check In form. Under file, make sure the print margins are set at .25 all the way around. Then print. The Check In form will print with a barcode at the top. If your form does not have a barcode in the top right corner, you have not printed the correct form.

Complete the Barcode Check In Form:
Fill out the required information on the bottom of the form. This information is very important to have accurately completed. Sign the form. Your signature verifies that all of the information listed on the roster is ACCURATE & COMPLETE.
 

IF YOU NEED TO MAKE ROSTER CHANGES ONCE IN ATLANTA --
Access a computer and a printer (i.e. tournament station, hotel business center, Kinkos, etc) and use the instructions above to correct and print your roster BEFORE coming to Team Check In at the Georgia World Congress Center.

Valid USAV Numbers:
At the time you check in, you must have valid USAV numbers for each rostered person -- all players and staff. These numbers must be entered into SignUpToPlay and not handwritten on the roster form. Contact your regional official to get these numbers if you do not have them. You CAN NOT be allowed to participate in the Big South unless this is completed.

Team Practices:
There will be no team practices allowed since the girls event will have already been in full swing for a day.

Exhibitor Displays:
Some Exhibitors will be open on Thursday during Team Check-In for browsing and sales. All others will be open during the time of the event

Coolers:
No coolers of any kind or size will be permitted in the GWCC. Neither Big South or the GWCC will assume responsibility for coolers or providing a place for them. Please leave them at your hotel or in your car.

Chairs & Large Bags (Lugguage):
No portable chairs of any size or kind will be permitted inside the playing hall. Neither Big South or the GWCC will assume responsibility for chairs or providing a place for them. Please leave them at your hotel or in your car. Seating inside the hall around the courts is provided.

Large bags and luggage will not be permitted inside the playing hall. Neither Big South or the GWCC will assume responsibility for coolers or providing a place for them. You can leave them at your hotel or in your car However, there will be a luggage check in the main lobby of the GWCC on Sunday to assist teams in be able to leave for the airport directly from the venue..
